On the 3/10/2011 we created a pin hole camera in Katy Suggitts critical studies seminar, we got a cardboard box, made sure that is was light tight (no light could get into the box) by covering it with black tape of black cardboard, we then made a hole in the box with a pen and covered this with a piece of tin foil, made sure this was taped into place and used a tiny pin and made another hole in the tin foil, exactly in line with the hole that we had already made, then taped a piece of cardboard over the hole to make a flap. When we had done all of this we went into the dark room and taped a piece of photographic paper to the inside of our box. We had to go outside and hold our pin hole cameras up with the light facing us and open our flaps so our photographic paper was getting exposed to light for about 10 seconds, ( it depended on how big your box was to how long you exposed it) when this was completed you put your flap back down and kept in tight against the box so no light could enter, then went back to the dark room, took out our paper from the box and completed the process of developing your photograph. Some people actually managed to get a slight image on their paper but unfortunately mine was just a black splodge in the center. I will be doing this again as I really want to see what i would get if it all went accordingly. I wont have to make another camera as mine is still in perfect working order, I will just have to add some paper to it and go and expose it to light and develop it again, hopefully next time I will be pleasantly surprised.
